"What would Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania look like if CDU's manifesto for the state election on 20.9.2026 were fully implemented?"
AI explanation
The image shows Rostock-Warnemünde with new residential buildings and housing developments symbolizing easier homeownership and support for families ("MV-Baukindergeld"). A modern medical center (MVZ) represents additional medical-school places, keeping every hospital location open, and stronger medical care ("MV-Gesundheit"), while modern office and administrative buildings represent the digitalization of government and business plus AI-powered citizen services ("MV-Digital"). Along the beach promenade and public squares, additional security measures and a stronger police presence hint at the expansion of domestic security and the fight against cybercrime ("MV-Sicherheit"). A large construction site symbolizes investment in housing and infrastructure and the ambition to further develop the state's economy.
What was hard to depict?
Energy policy (MV-Energie)
- Compensation for electricity costs for citizens and support for the manufacturing sector are fiscal-policy measures with no visual equivalent.
Apprenticeships (MV-Azubiprämie)
- The bonus for successfully completing an apprenticeship in a shortage occupation is a financial subsidy with no spatial motif of its own.
Education (MV-Bildung)
- Mandatory language support and keeping grammar schools and special-needs schools open are education-policy measures with no direct visual language.
Child protection (MV-Kinderschutz)
- The phone ban in schools and stricter social-media rules can't be depicted visually.
Language policy (MV-Sprache)
- The mandatory application of standard spelling rules and forgoing gender-neutral language in schools and government are matters of language and can't be shown from the air.
About the project
This project pursues two goals:
- Motivating people to engage more deeply with the concrete content of state election manifestos – with a new AI-based approach.
- Inviting you to think about your influence on your state's political future. Your vote in the state election is an important tool for actively shaping the region's future.
AI and state politics
The election manifestos were processed by an AI agent that analyzes what each state would look like if its manifesto were fully implemented. The resulting visions were used to generate images with Flux by Black Forest Labs (a German AI company).
The results are unedited and all based on the same prompts. They are meant to illustrate, not to serve as a voting recommendation.
AI exhibitions & shows
Our earlier project bundestagswahl.ai was already exhibited in several German cities as part of the 2025 federal election – among others in Tübingen, Essen, Berlin, Zwickau and Bernau. Visitors and school classes were guided through the exhibitions and could discuss the "future visions" together.
We're just as happy to exhibit the wahl.land images! If you'd like to show them yourself, just get in touch and we'll provide the print files and instructions free of charge.

FAQ
How were the future visions created?
The parties' election manifestos were processed by an AI agent that analyzes what each state would look like if the manifesto were fully implemented. The resulting visions were used to generate images with Flux by Black Forest Labs (a German AI company).
Do the images represent a voting recommendation?
No, absolutely not. The visions serve solely to illustrate political programs and to encourage critical debate. They do not replace independent political judgment.
Why aren't all states available yet?
The project is growing step by step. Each state requires careful preparation of the manifestos and AI generation of the images. New states are being added continuously.
Are the images edited?
No, the images are unedited and shown exactly as generated by the AI. No changes were made afterward.
